Our clients in the Washington DC area include the Food and Drug Administration for which provided classroom training in Advanced Access Databases. We were subcontracted through Dynamics Edge, the prime vendor. Dynamics Edge desired an Expert Access Database developer with training skills to deliver this class to their Federal Government client.

The signing of the Residence Act on July 16, 1790, approved the creation of a capital district located along the Potomac River on the country's East Coast. The U.S. Constitution provided for a federal district under the exclusive jurisdiction of the U.S. Congress, and the District is therefore not a part of any U.S. state. The states of Maryland and Virginia each donated land to form the federal district, which included the pre-existing settlements of Georgetown and Alexandria. Routt County Alcohol Council
The Council contacted us to upgrade their Access 97 database to the current version of Access. We have to first move the database into Access 2003, and then into Access 2019 (365). The was further complicated due to a workgroup information file protecting the Access 97 database and then advanced vba code that needed modification.

We are frustrated that Microsoft does not provide a transparent upgrade path from Access 97 directly to Access 365 (or whatever current version of Access is out today). We are further frustrated that Access discontinues support of features such as workgroup information files, pivot tables/report, Access Data Projects. So clients are forced to contact consultants like Data Control. We realize the importance of your database and the dilemma you are in. So we try to fairly price the upgrade to the new version of Access hoping that we can get future development work from you.

To get around the Workgroup Information File issue (the client had no documentation of this which is understandable considering the database is 20 years old and the original developer long gone), we opened a new Access 2003 database and imported all of the objects. This then allowed us to open the Access 2003 database in Access 2007 and perform the final upgrade steps.

This particular database uses advanced VBA code and expected the data file to be in a particular position on the server. If the data file wasn't there, the reports didn't work. So we searched through the code removing this requirement. We also had to modify a few of the libraries

Naval Laboratory

The Naval Research Laboratory in Waldorf, MD contacted us to build an inventory database. This Access Database handles the entire process of purchasing and inventorying all items on the base including all test equipment used at the Naval Research Laboratory. We all use hand scanner so complete physical inventories on base that stores/forwards information to the Access Database.

Subcontractor to Build Access Database for tracking contract information for their Military client: Air Force Bases in Washington DC. ACSG is a Federal Prime Vendor and they went after a military contract that desired Access databases to manage contracts for the military bases in DC. This Access database we developed was identical but rolled out separately to manage the contracts that each Air Force base currently had in existence.

Convergent Business Solutions LLC

Convergent is a consulting firm in Richmond, Virginia. We partnered to build an Access database for their Retirement Home client: Virginia Baptist Homes, a retirement community.

We modified this existing Access database for the IT manager of VA Baptist Homes. The database receives daily text files from the retirement home's phone systems (6 geographic retirement home locations). The 6 text files are imported, staged, scrubbed and processed into consolidated, individual invoices for the members of the retirement community. The receive monthly bills for the phone calls they make / receive.
